I was expecting a massive attack from this beer. After drinking the awesomely bitter Rock Art Magnumus Ete Tomahawkus ESB2, I was steeling myself for a major punch in the guts, especially as this is 10% ABV.

Yes, it's bitter (100 IBUs). Yes, it's strong. But I think The Vermonster is a more refined and easy-drinking beer than the ESB2.

Dark brown with a fluffy head, it smells like the hoppiest beer you could imagine. Piney and bitter, for sure. In the mouth, it's rather fizzy, bitter, but not excessively so. Swallow and the bitterness increases, but never to the level of hop hell.

Tasty, slow-burning, a sipper. Well worth buying if you can find it.
