Part of the brewer's Signature Series, which includes some of my very favourite Quebec beers.
Deep orange-amber pour with a light head that sticks around. Very serious nose for a beer of average strength: tons of hops, a hint of citrus. Continues below
Described on the bottle as "an unfiltered pilsner marrying the richness of Quebec barley to the smoothness of German hops". I don't find the hops smooth, it's more like a smack in the chops with a bitter kettle of wort.
Really, really bitter. I am surprised at how harsh this tastes. Not IPA dry, simply mouth-puckering. It's not unpleasant, but certainly won't be displacing other members of the Signature and Extreme Series as my all-time greats from La Belle Province.
