Wanaka BeerWorks Taster set
Wanaka BeerWorks, New Zealand
"A gold lager of quaffable contingencies": The use of "quaffable" to describe a taste in beer is excused as an obvious tongue-in-cheek poke at the more serious eloquent beer observers and their poetic descriptions (I'll include myself in this guilty bunch upon occasion).
My first reaction upon downing a sip was an enthusiastic "nice!"
A hint of apricot in a mild yet smooth hop finish, this golden lager goes well with a Kiwi barbeque on the balcony of your flat while enjoying the fading summer sun.
It fits well with the other two in the set, by following the strict "no additives, no preservatives" rule and I feel is the easiest to drink out of the three from Wanaka BeerWorks.
If you are ever in one the most beautiful parts of New Zealand, drop in to one of the local liquor stores and ask for the Wanaka BeerWorks Taster set; you won't be disappointed.
