Wernesgruener Pils Legende: sharp pils

Wernesgruener Pils Legende (4.9% ABV)
Wernesgruener Brewery, Wernesgrun, Germany

Sharp, clear, straw-coloured beer with little head and lots of carbonation. Thin, fizzy mouthfeel and nicely balanced, with a soft, sweetish bite followed quickly by extreme bitter, yet wheaty hop taste.

Lingering milder bitterness eventually pales to a final ghost of sweetness a minute or so later. A fine summer thirst-quencher.

This is my first taste of the house's Pils Legende, and it's terrific. Being of German descent, naturally of course, my heart goes to German beers. And Wernesgr�ner Pils Legende has taken over my beery affections. A super beer. A super "blonde," as we say in Qu�bec.
