Finally, I finished off Wynkoop Brewing Denver samples with the Sleggehameren Barley Wine. Let me tell you, that baby put the "hammer" in "hammered". The barkeep didn’t know the exact alcohol content, but did say they only serve it in snifters since it’s too powerful for a pint.
In my opinion, that makes it "The Cognac of Beers", kind of like Miller High Life is "The Champagne of Beers". But you know, classier.
It was the perfect finish to the evening, especially since it was so strong I probably wouldn’t have been able to taste anything else after it.
